Horning wants better planning

For the second time Robert Horning is running for a seat on the Logan Municipal Council. He is one of nine candidates wanting to fill the two open seats left by Tami Pyfer and Steve Thompson. On KVNU’s Crosstalk show Tuesday, Horning said the council needs to do more planning in order to avoid problems down the road. An example, he says, is the Park Strip Restoration Project in the Adams School area where USU students have always needed apartments.”I’m not necessarily a fan of tearing up all these park strips,” Horning explained. “(I’m) certainly not a huge fan of spending these huge amounts of money the cities have been dumping on that and claiming poverty for other things around the city.” Horning also says planning would have prevented the current problem on 10th West where a school was built and then housing developments came in despite the fact that there was a busy highway.
