Four Logan City mayoral candidates, nine file for municipal council

Incumbent Logan City mayor Randy Watts has some competition. Watts has filed for re-election and has three challengers, Marc Haws, Mike Morrill and recently-added John P. Clay.Nine have filed for two open seats on the Municipal Council. Those candidates include J. Curtis Broadbent, Brandon Brown, Holly H. Daines, Robert Horning, interim councilmember Dean Quayle, Steven G. Stokes, Chad A. Tilley, Tony Wegener and Steven P. Woods.The State of Utah has set September 15th as Primary Municipal Election Day. A primary will be in place for both the mayoral position and the two open council seats. Candidates for Logan Municipal Council are not running for specific seats anymore. The council changed the way candidates are elected, adopting an at-large system that selects candidates based on the most votes received throughout the city.
