Hatch pushing more natural gas incentives

Senator Orrin Hatch, R-UT, has teamed up with oilman T. Boone Pickens to push natural gas incentives. Hatch stood with Pickens and two Democratic Senators, Robert Mendenez, D-NJ, and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-NV, to introduce a bill designed to make more vehicles fueled by natural gas happen.Pickens praised the legislation saying it does more to reduce our foreign oil dependence crisis than any other piece of legislation in the past 40 years. Pickens has been busy spreading the word that natural gas is a cleaner, cheaper fuel and it’s abundant in America. The bipartisan bill will extend some credits created for natural gas vehicles from a bill Hatch passed four years ago. It also makes it easier for more natural gas vehicles to quality for credits, allows duel-fuel vehicles that use natural gas or qualify for credits, and gives tax incentives for fuel stations that offer natural gas.
