Mayor Watts: First goals accomplished, says he can now do more for city

When Logan Mayor Randy Watts ran for office four years ago, he had seven goals and he believes all of them have been accomplished. That’s one reason he said he’s decided to run for a second four-year term. Watts says that now he feels there is more he can do to improve the quality of life for Logan residents.Watts said that since he comes from a business background, one of his major goals has been efficiency within the city.”I’ve always been one of those people that I want people, I want to compensate them for their work, but I want them to be to work on time and I want them to give us a full day’s work and we compensate them,” Watts said. “Those areas where we could do some trimming and also multitask, I’ve been in that process.”Watts says he has had a lot of support from department heads along the way. As of Monday morning, no one had filed to oppose Watts in the November election. The filing deadline for Logan is July 15.
