I have been exchanging emails with Gary Wilkinson’s agent, Ben Pensack, discussing what Gary’s options are and which teams are interested in the former Aggie big man and 2009 WAC Player of the Year.I asked Pensack if the Jazz were the only option for Gary right now:”Gary’s goal right now is to make the Utah Jazz roster and earn a contract offer from them,” Pensack wrote in a recent email. “I do think that he will play well for them in the summer league and will have a legitimate chance of making their roster. If the Jazz don’t offer him a contract, of course we would pursue other NBA teams and entertain offers from other teams.”I also asked Pensack, from his point of view, about the NBA and the current state of our country’s economy.”Regarding the economy, the economic downturn our country has seen over the last year has definitely affected the basketball market.
