The filing period for the non-partisan municipal offices opens todayand continues through July 15th. The terms of all the mayors in CacheCounty expire this year and in each city two or three council membersare also up for election.Logan Mayor Randy Watts has announced that he is seeking a second term and plans to file for the position today. Two council seats are also up for grabs in Logan since Tami Pyfer has said she is not running again and Dean Quayle has been named interim council memberreplacing Steve Thompson, who resigned several months before his term expired.Mayors in Hyrum, Richmond and Lewiston have all announced they plan to run for re-election, while mayors in Smithfield, Providence, Wellsville, North Logan and Hyde Park have announced that they do not plan to seek re-election.
