U.S. Rep. Jim Matheson, D-Utah, will be in Hyrum on Sunday as the keynote speaker for a patriotic program launching the town’s annual “Star Spangled Week.”Matheson, the only elected Democrat from Utah serving in Washington D.C., will speak at 7 p.m. on the city square, and Hyrum Mayor Dean Howard said everyone in the valley is invited to attend.After Matheson’s Sunday speech, Star Spangled Week activities will continue through July 4, culminating with one of the valley’s premiere Independence Day celebrations on July 4 with a parade at noon down Hyrum’s Main Street.Dean will speak all about the events on Tuesday when he is Jennie Christensen’s guest on KVNU’s Crosstalk. The show starts at 9:10 a.m. and is a call in show, and can be heard on the air on 610 AM or online here at Cache Valley Daily. A podcast of the show also will be available later Tuesday in the on-demand section of Cache Valley Daily.
