The Cache Valley Homebuilders Association’s 2009 Parade of Homes opens Friday with what parade chairman Chris Tolman says is “eleven beautiful homes stretching from Mount Sterling on the south to Franklin, Idaho on the north.” Tolman says there’s a good variety, including town homes, homes for first-time buyers, move-up type homes and the large custom homes woith prices ranging from the mid-$130,000’s to close to a million dollars. Association President Don Christoffersen says this is a great time to buy a home. Christofferson says as you tour the 11 homes stretching from Mt Sterling to Franklin, Idaho you’ll see some of the best work of builders and craftsmen who are committed to excellence.Although lending pracices have stiffened since the recession started, banks are lending money to those who have a job and a good credit score. Christofferson admits that things lightened for a while but he says things are now on an upswing.” The parade of homes runs Friday and Saturday, then Tuesday through Saturday next week. Tickets are available at Macey’s, both Lees Marketplace stores, the Island Maarket and Stokes Market in Preston, Idaho.
