KVNU sports producer John Newbold found out that former Aggie Gary Wilkinson is one of six invited to a pre-NBA draft workout with the Golden State Warriors today (Thursday). Wilkinson was an honorablemention All-America as he was the WAC Player of the Year as he led the Aggies to a 30 victory season. The 6-8 forward has been working out with an agent and trainer in Las Vegas since the end of the school year.The Utah State football program Ladies Only Clinic is tonight 6pm at Romney Stadium. Girls and women 14 and over are invited for free. Come dressed to move around as they explain football, and answer questionsyou women have about the game.Utah State had 4 in the NCAA Track and Field Championships at the University of Arkansas. Only one, hammer thrower Krista Larson, moved on to the finals yesterday. Larson was 12th in the Hammer to makeit to Friday morning’s final. Runners Nick Karren, Steve Strickland, and jumper Casey Parker all did not make it out of the prelims yesterday.Two members of the Bear River Archery Club in Preston took top honors at the Big Sky Open last weekend. Amber Christensen placed first in the Women’s Open first flight. Matt Bassett took the top spot in the Men’s Bowhunter Division, winning in a sudden death shoot-off. Kerry Baird from the Bear River Club was 3rd in the Men’s Open Third Flight.Mountain Crest Baseball has announced two upcoming camps. Their Little League Clinic will be June 16 and 17, from 9 to noon on the Mustangs Baseball Yard. Grades 1 through 7 are invited and its $35. Register the first day of the camp. Then for 8th and 9th graders to be next school year, Coach Steve Hansen and his staff will have a Showcase June 22, 23 and 24 from 10am to 1pm each of those days. Its also at the Yard in Hyrum and its $60 for the three days, or $25 each day separately. If you are planning a future as a Mountain Crest Mustang baseball player, you should be in the Showcase.
