Projections show that the Memorial Day concert at Utah State University headlined by Donny Osmond raised more than $100,000. The money will support scholarships and development areas in USU’s Departments of Music and Theatre Arts. USU Vice President for Advancement Ross Peterson says Donny Osmond and the chorus were fantastic, everyone had a great preview of a wonderful venue at Riverwoods, and USU’s Music and Theatre programs and numerous students will benefit from those who attended. 320 people attended the pre-concert dinner at the Riverwoods Conference Center, including several dignitaries like U.S. Senator Bob Bennett, Mac Christensen, Stan Parrish and other officials from the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Craig Jessop, head of the music and theatre departments, originated the idea for the fundraising event and he says Osmond readily agreed to support the effort by donating his time and talent for the concert.
