Logan woman arrested on prescription drug charges

A 53-year old Logan woman has been arrested in two separate cases that involved prescription drugs. Logan Police Capt. Jeff Curtis said Vicki Sampson was at her neighbor’s home earlier this week when she allegedly stole some prescription drugs. The neighbor reported leaving Sampson alone in a room a few times during the visit. When she returned, Curtis said, Sampson seemed drowsy. The neighbor went to fill a prescription and noticed the bottle was nearly empty. At the same time the Cache-Rich Drug Task Force was investigating Sampson after a Logan pharmacy called police to report the statewide computer system had flagged Sampson, according to police reports. The state report showed she filled prescriptions of hydrocodone and oxycodone at two different pharmacies from three different doctors. Sampson was booked into the Cache County Jail on felony charges of burglary, fraud and possession of a controlled substance.
