Loud applause and standing ovations greeted multi-talented Utah native Donny Osmond from a sold-out crowd at Utah State University Monday night. A friend of Craig Jessop, head of the USU Music and Theater Departments, Osmond performed the concert as a fundraiser to provide student scholarships for the departments. Osmond currently performs five nights a week in Las Vegas with his sister Marie. The crowd especiallly responded to some of the hits that made Osmond famous, such as “Puppy Love”, “One Bad Apple” and “Soldier of Love”. Also performing with patriotic music were the American Festival Chorus and Orchestra along with native Utah singer Jessie Clark Funk. Jessop estimated the Memorial Day Tribute concert, along with the dinner-reception before the concert, raised approximately $50,000 for the departments.
