Rendezvous Stabbing Investigation Continues

Investigation is continuing into the death of a Wyoming man participating in a Mountain Man Rendesvous gathering in Blacksmith Fork Canyon early Sunday morning. Cache County Sheriffs Lieutenant Matt Billadeau says 33 year-old Tim Andrus of LaBarge, Wyoming was wrestling with an acqaintance at about 1:30 a.m. Sunday when he was pierced through the chest.Andrus was pronounced dead at the scene. Lt. Biladeau says no one has been arrested yet. “We’re interviewing witnesses, suspects, everybody that we can to try to come to some conclusion,” Biladeau said. “The body has been transported down to the state Medical Examiners Office per part of the investigation and that’s kind of where we’re at at this time.”The Old Ephraim Mountain Men and Women Club sponsors the event annually over the Memorial Day Holiday Weekend. It is held in the Left Hand Fork area of Blacksmith Fork Canyon and participants re-enact pioneer life with games and competitions, including rifle shooting, knife thowing, primitive archery and dutch oven cooking.Leaders of the annual Memorial Day weekend Rendevous convened a campfire Sunday morning to help the youth deal with the emotional aftermath.
