SALT LAKE CITY (AP) – Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman says he andPresident Barack Obama believe that the United States’ relationshipwith China is its most important one in the world.Huntsman is a popular Republican governor in his second term whowas tapped by Obama on Saturday to serve as U.S. ambassador toChina. Huntsman is fluent in Mandarin Chinese from his days servingas a Mormon missionary in Taiwan.In comments to reporters on Monday, Huntsman said he agonizedover accepting the job.Huntsman won re-election in November with 78 percent of thevote. During the campaign, he said he intended to serve out hissecond term.Huntsman declined to take any questions Monday. Huntsman’snomination still needs U.S. Senate confirmation.
