Utah lawmakers will convene on Wednesday for a special session called by Governor Jon Huntsman before he was named Ambassador to China by President Barack Obama. Legislators will address issues centered around making technical corrections to the state budget. Only the governor can place items on the agenda for a special session. Among other things lawmakers will consider is adjusting Medicaid hospital provider rates, modifying the Employment Selection Procedures Act to clarify what information may be disclosed by an employer and allowing owners of agricultural land in rural areas to create subdivisions regardless of local ordinances.
