This is the biggest week of the year for the city of Richmond. Quality holstein are once again coming from all parts of the nation to participate in the 94th Annual Black and White Days festivities. Black and White Days opens today with the Junior Cattle show. Black and White Days continue Tuesday through Friday with the cream of the crop black and white dairy cattle there for showing, judging and then participating in the famous Heritage Cattle Show Friday evening. The Western Nation Spring Cattle Judging Contest is Tuesday at 10 a.m. then the Western National Futurity is Thursday at 9:30 a.m. with the prestigous Heritage Cattle show that night at 7. Black and White Days Chairman Jeff Young says there are more family activities than ever before, including a local band and free family movie on Friday. Highlights on Saturday are a Cow-a-Bunga race, open horse show, Relic Hall tours, dairy foods contest, booths and live entetainment. There’s also a parade at 5 p.m. and the popular horse pull at 7.
