Everything is new and she is trying to go through the mountains of exhibits and artifacts.

“I enjoyed my time in Colorado and being in the mountains,” she said. “I applied and they showed interest, but then they changed the job description and wanted me to reapply, so I did.”

She said it just seemed like this is where she was supposed to be.

“Here I am,” she said. “For the first 10 years I was thrown a lot of challenges and they all lead me here.”

The new curator’s specialties include project research, cataloging, artifact and archival storage. Blumenthal also has experience with exhibit design, public education, interpretation, creating and facilitating international partnerships. She has done her fair share of grant writing, team management, and office administration.

“As curator of the Montgomery County Government I was responsible for turning the Sunrise Mill into a public historic park and museum,” she said.  “I also spent time in Alaska as Curator of Collections and Exhibits for the Kodiak Historical Society.”

Blumenthal spent over five years as the curator and director of administration at the Loudoun Museum in Leesburg, Va.

She said there are a lot of stories to tell in Brigham City and Box Elder County.
