Police identify Young Ward woman who died in Logan car crash

LOGAN — Police have released the identity of the 81-year-old Young Ward woman who died in a two-vehicle crash Monday afternoon. Lola Thalman passed away after the crash at the intersection of 1000 W. 1000 S. in Logan.

Police report Thalman was a passenger in a white car, driven by her husband, Richard Deloy Thalman. The car was heading southbound on 1000 W., when it attempted to turn left in front of a northbound black SUV. The crash occurred at 1 p.m.

Lola Thalman was pronounced dead at the scene. Richard Thalman was taken to the hospital by ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers report the driver and passenger of the SUV did not sustain any major injuries.

Initial evidence suggests that Richard Thalman failed to yield to oncoming traffic. The accident remains under investigation.

Funeral services for Lola Thalman are still being arranged.
