LOGAN — A 36-year-old Smithfield woman with more than three years of drug convictions has been sentenced to prison. Tasha M. Crozier was ordered to serve a term between one-to-15-years.

Crozier was sentenced in 1st District Court Monday morning after being arraigned on new drug charges. She pleaded guilty to one count of drug possession, a third-degree felony. She already had been convicted of multiple other drug felonies and misdemeanors going back as far as August 2016.

Public defender Mike McGinnis said Crozier has struggled most of her life with drugs. He expressed hope that she gets the help she needs and can turn her life around.

Crozier cried, telling the court she wanted to be able to get off drugs but didn’t know how to get clean.

Cache County Chief Deputy Attorney Spencer Walsh asked the court to send Crozier to prison. He also expressed hope that she could get help with her addictions.

Judge Thomas Willmore agreed with Walsh and sentenced Crozier to prison. He gave her credit for 100 days that she had already served in jail, but said it would be up to the board of pardons to determine if they would accept it.

Judge Willmore told Crozier, “Hopefully you can get some help down there.
