It’s the Weekend: November 7-10, 2019

There are a lot of great activities happening around Cache Valley, and we’ve got all the details in this week’s edition of It’s the Weekend!

Logan Holiday Gift Show – this Friday and Saturday

Over 70 different vendors will be on hand at the Logan Holiday Gift Show this Friday and Saturday at the Riverwoods Conference Center, open 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. each day. Plus, Santa will be there!

The Tempest

Green Canyon High School presents The Tempest. The classic Shakespeare play will be performed Thursday, Friday and Saturday, then again on Monday at 6:30 p.m.

Rod Decker: Utah Politics of Religion, Sex and Family

Retired journalist Rod Decker will speak at the Merrill-Cazier Library at Utah State University on Thursday at 7 p.m. in room 101. His topic: Utah Politics of Religion, Sex and Family.

American Mothers: Let’s Gather

The theme of the 30th annual American Mothers conference is Let’s Gather. It takes place Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Logan Tabernacle. The special guest speaker is Jennie Taylor, mother of 7 and wife of the North Ogden Mayor who died while serving our country recently.

Bridgerland Fall Fashion Show

The Diverse City Fall Fashion Show is Thursday and Friday at Bridgerland Technical College. BTECH Fashion Merchandising and Development students present their fall fashion show at 6:30 each night.

Is Sasquatch Real?

Find out at the Logan Library when a renowned Bigfoot expert shares his compelling evidence about the shy creature of the forest. Get your questions answered about Sasquatch at 7 p.m. Thursday night.

Bright Star

Steve Martin’s Broadway hit musical Bright Star opens at the Utah Theatre this weekend, and runs through November 18th. Set in the Blue Ridge mountains of the South, the production by the Cache Theatre Company includes a live, bluegrass band.

Nativity Night at Global Village Gifts

From 6-9 p.m. Friday, see hundreds of fair trade Nativities and holiday decor from around the world at Global Village Gifts. There will also be live music and treats.

Art for CAPSA at Malouf

Bid on a variety of original art pieces by renowned local artists and enjoy incredible food at Malouf on Friday, starting at 6:30 p.m. All proceeds benefit CAPSA in their fight against domestic abuse.

Harlem Globetrotters at Ridgeline High School

High flying, crazy stunts, and audience interaction take place Friday at 7 p.m. in the gym at Ridgeline High School when the Harlem Globetrotters come to town.

Community Art Day at USU: Collage Coasters

Personalize some objects and express ideas with materials provided at the Community Art Day in the Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art at USU. It starts at 9 a.m. and light refreshments will also be provided.

Aggiethon Dance Marathon

Get your dance on at the Aggiethon Dance Marathon! The 10-hour dance party is a fundraiser for Primary Children’s Hospital. It starts at 1 p.m. and goes until 11 p.m. in the Aggie Recreation Center.

Light up the Night Gala

Support nature education and exploration in Cache Valley through the Stokes Nature Center at the Light up the Night Gala. The live and silent auction event begins at 5 p.m. at the Logan Country Club.

Logan Canyon Winds Recital

The Logan Canyon Winds recital honors veterans by featuring composers who served their countries, either on the battlefield or while occupied. The performance will be in the Russell/Wanlass Performance Hall on Sunday at 4 p.m. and it’s free to attend.
