Ellis named to national farm equipment board

Clair Ellis named to Board of Directors of the Farm Equipment Manufactures Association.

WELLSVILLE – Clair Ellis, president of Ellis Equipment, Co. located at 2759 US 89 in Wellsville, was recently elected to the Board of Directors of the Farm Equipment Manufactures Association, said a release from the organization.

Clair Ellis, president of Ellis Equipment Co. was elected to the Board of Directors of the Farm Equipment Manufactures Association Tuesday.

Ellis joins a 16-member board serving nearly 700 members representing total of 675 companies in the United States and Canada.

The St. Louis, MO-based organization reaches out to connect with small manufacturers, suppliers and wholesalers, and gives them the voice to advocate for the farm industry. The association is one place where members can increase their knowledge of what manufacturers are doing in the industry.

“It is an honor to be considered for the Associations Board of Directors and represent its marketing members,” Ellis said. “Marketers face challenges and opportunities and we can learn from each other and work with manufactures to make our sales and support partnerships more effective and efficient.”

The Providence resident studied Economics at UCLA and worked in the aerospace industry in California before returning to Cache Valley in 1984 to help manage the fourth-generation Ellis farm equipment company.

“I didn’t expected to be nominated,” Ellis exclaimed. “A committee gets together and decides who to nominate.”

He said it is a kind of service opportunity and gives him a chance to give back to the industry.

Ellis Equipment Company is four generation farm equipment company.

“It’s nice to have the opportunity to represent the association,” Ellis said. “We think it is an important organization and I’m glad to be a part of it.”

Clair and his wife Cynthia raised four children and have 10 grandchildren.
