Anonymous donor pledges up to $100,000 to the Family Place

LOGAN – For the first time in the history of the Family Place, a donor has come forward who is willing to match up to $100,000 in donations between now and December 25th.

According to Director Esterlee Molyneux, “The Family Place is looking for cash contributions and the anonymous donor will make a dollar per dollar match.”

The Family Place is a non-profit organization. Their focus is on strengthening families and protecting children.

“Funding of this amount helps with a number of programs, including our child abuse prevention program, parenting classes and low cost and sliding scale fee therapy,” she said

“Every donation matters,” added Molyneux. “We’ve had children who have had lemonade stands that will bring in a bag of change that may be equal to one or two dollars. Everything makes a difference. Everything counts and during this exciting time, that one or two dollar donation can turn in to two to four dollars.”

The offer from the anonymous donor was pledged last month and since that time there have been innovative and creative ways to raise money, said Molyneux.

”My heart has just been full of gratitude by the efforts our community is making,” she said.
