Daniel (Dan) Milton Scott

Daniel (Dan) Milton Scott, 67, of Dana Point, California, passed away peacefully in his sleep on October 25, 2019 while pursuing one of his passions – fishing.

Dan is survived by his wife of 45 years, Mary Jane, three children; Chris (wife Sarah), Josh (wife Kristen), and Tricia (husband Will), eight grandchildren (Jacob, Logan, Edric, Jack, Owen, Elizabeth, Abby, Lily), parents Khalil and Patsy Scott of Malad, Idaho, and a large extended family of brothers, a sister, nieces, and nephews. Dan was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, and friend to all.

Dan grew up in Malad Valley and had several passions in life. He loved to fix and make things with his hands, everything from cutting boards to leather work, gardening, working on cars, and managing repairs around his home and the homes of his family. He enjoyed cooking everything imaginable for friends, work and family…although he preferred not to clean up afterwards. Dan looked forward to hanging out weekly with friends at the Patio. More than anything (other than Mary Jane!), his passion was fishing. He loved to go anywhere and everywhere to share this passion with friends, family, and particularly with his grandchildren. Dan would help anyone or animal with anything at any moment and gave without expectations.

A viewing will be held at the Horsley Funeral Home, 132 West 300 North, Malad City, Idaho on Saturday, November 2, 2019 from 10:00 – 11:00am immediately followed by a service. Dan will be laid to rest at the Pleasant View Cemetery later that day. An additional celebration of life will be held in California on November 9, 2019.

In lieu of flowers please donate to the American Heart Association.

Condolences and memories may be shared with the family at horsleyfuneralhome.com
