It’s the Weekend: Sept. 26-29, 2019

Film, music, art, football, parades and big barbecues. There’s no reason to be bored this weekend in Cache Valley.

The Block Festival

The Block Festival transforms Logan’s historic theater district into a celebration of independent vision and artistic expression Friday and Saturday in Logan. Dozens of independent films, live music and art displays will be in multiple venues between Center Street and 100 South, Main Street and 100 West in Logan. Even though there is construction on Center Street, there is still access to the Utah and Caine Lyric theaters.

Homecoming Week for USU

It’s Homecoming Week for the Utah State Aggies. There a bunch of activities going on all weekend, including the Aggie Family Reunion in downtown Logan Friday at 6, Running of the Bulls 5K Saturday morning, the Homecoming Parade down Main Street is at 10. The Ag Day Barbecue is at 2:30 Saturday at Craig Aston Park (there’s always amazing food there) and then the USU football team hosts Colorado State at 5:30 on Merlin Olsen Field. And don’t forget, True Aggie Night is Friday at midnight. Go Aggies!

Cache Valley Parade of Homes

The Cache Valley Parade of Homes continues this Thursday, Friday and Saturday. There are 12 beautiful homes this year that appeal to people of varying degrees of budget and lifestyle.

The Music Man

The last opportunities to see The Music Man are this weekend. Come see the wonderful production by Music Theatre West at the Ellen Eccles Theatre Thursday, Friday or Saturday.

One Voice: A Suffrage Concert Celebration

American Festival Choir and Orchestra presents One Voice: A Suffrage Concert Celebration commemorating the passage of the 19th amendment giving women the right to vote. The inspiring evening of music is Friday at 7:30 in the Daines Concert Hall.

Out of Darkness Walk

Help stop suicide and promote prevention at the Out of Darkness Walk in Brigham City. The walk takes place at USU Brigham City with registration at 9 a.m. on Saturday.

Marvelous Adventure

Jump with your favorite super heroes at The Family Place’s Marvelous Adventure, Saturday at 10 a.m. or 1 p.m. at the Jump Zone. Captain America, Black Panther, Star Lord, Superman and others will be there.

Canyon Jams

The Shaky Hand String Band performs Saturday night at 2nd Dam in Logan Canyon. The concert is part of the Canyon Jams Concert Series, sponsored by Stokes Nature Center and Bridger Folk Music Society. Doors open at 6, music starts at 7.
