It’s the Weekend: Sept. 19-22, 2019

The Cache Valley Parade of Homes is this weekend and so is the Logan Marathon. There are so many great things to see and do, and we’ve got all the details right here.

Cache Valley Parade of Homes

The Cache Valley Parade of Homes gets underway this weekend, featuring 12 beautiful homes from Smithfield to Wellsville, and now including Collinston and Fielding in Box Elder County. See the latest trends in home construction, decorating and landscaping.

Leonard Arrington Mormon History Lecture

The promise and reality of the transcontinental railroad will be the topic at the 25th annual Leonard Arrington Mormon History Lecture. It will be Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Logan Tabernacle and is free to attend.

Tractor Parade

The College of Agriculture and Applied Sciences is celebrating this week at USU, and on Friday they’re hosting a Tractor Parade. Modern agricultural machinery, airplanes and more will make their way down Aggie Bullevard starting at 10:15 a.m. Friday.

Science Unwrapped – Food on Mars

Some of the science behind the movie “The Martian” will be discussed by Utah State researchers who helped on the movie. Science Unwrapped – Food on Mars, takes place Friday at 7 at USU.

The Music Man

Music Theatre West presents The Music Man, opening this Friday and Saturday at the Ellen Eccles Theatre. The award-winning musical comedy begins at 7:30 pm each evening.

Logan Marathon

The Top of Utah Marathon is now the Logan Marathon and it takes place this Saturday. It’s a flat race that also features a two-person relay, 10K trail race, 5K fun run, as well as a Kids & Family Fun Miler. The race begins and ends on 100 North in Historic Downtown Logan.

Walk to End Alzheimer’s

If you prefer walking to running, attend the annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s event Saturday at Merlin Olsen Central Park. Raise funds and awareness for Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias starting at 9 a.m.

Mighty Steps for Down Syndrome

What used to be called the Buddy Walk is now known as Mighty Steps for Down Syndrome. It’s the same, fun event at the American West Heritage Center with lots of fun activities for the whole family. There’s also a silent auction and a drawing, and it all gets started at 10 a.m. Saturday.

Fall Festival FUNdraiser

Inflatables, games, a bake sale and a lot more will be going on at Thomas Edison Charter School South in Nibley. Their annual Fall Festival FUNdraiser will help raise funds for much needed, new playground equipment at the public charter school.

Aggie Watch Party

And finally, finish off your weekend by cheering on the Aggies as they take on San Diego State Saturday night. There will be a big watch party in downtown Logan at 100 North Main starting at 8 p.m. Bring your own lawn chair, blankets, love sacs, whatever…and there will be food trucks on hand as well as prizes and giveaways. Go Aggies!
