Franklin County Fair, football games and a gaming convention highlight the events taking place in Cache Valley this weekend

Franklin County Fair

Last week it was the Cache County Fair…this week it’s the Franklin County Fair. Festivities are Thursday, Friday and Saturday in Preston. Pig wrestling is Thursday, Fair Factor is Friday and Bull Bonanza is Saturday night.

Frozen Jr.

Cache Theatre Company presents Disney’s Frozen Jr. at the Utah Theatre. It’s an all-teen production on Thursday, Friday and Saturday this week, as well as Monday and Tuesday next week. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. with a 1:30 p.m. matinee on Saturday.

MyCon

An indoor-outdoor gaming convention is this Friday and Saturday at the Cache County Events Center. MyCon features large board games, roll playing games, panel discussions, demonstrations, and active games outside. Die-hard gamers can even play through the night. MyCon opens Friday morning and continues into Saturday.

Oneida Stake Academy Golf Tournament

The Oneida Stake Academy Golf Tournament is Friday at the Preston Golf and Country Club. All proceeds go toward finishing the restoration of the historic academy in Preston.

High School Football

This Friday is the opening of High School Football. Bear River, Green Canyon and Ridgeline have home games this Friday, all kicking off at 7 p.m.

Preston Biathlon

The Preston Biathlon is Saturday from 7-11 a.m. You can choose to participate in three different types of events, actually: a Triathlon as an individual or as a team; a Biathlon as an individual or with a team; or, a 1 mile or 5K fun run.

One Step at a Time Charity Run

The One Step at a Time charity run is Saturday morning at 7:30. It’s a 5K run at Lundstrom Park that raises awareness about organ donations.

Aggie Football Family Fun Day

Finish off the weekend with even more football. The Utah State Aggies are hosting their Football Family Fun Day Saturday afternoon on Merlin Olsen Field. Gates open at 4 p.m., football scrimmage is at 5 p.m. and you can get player autographs right after the scrimmage concludes.
