Logan School District announces new Athletic Director and Assistant Principal hires

A former team manager for Stew Morrill’s Utah State men’s basketball team will now be the next Athletic Director at Logan High School. The high school’s administration, along with the Logan City School District and the Logan School Board, have announced that Jesse Parker will take over Logan High’s duties as Athletic Director on July 1st.

Parker was a team manager for the Aggies from 2009-13 before being named Director of Basketball Operations for the 2013-14 season. Those duties included all team operation duties and coordinated USU summer basketball camps. He received a Bachelor’s degree in physical education in 2012 and a Master’s of education in physical and sport education, both from USU.

“I am very excited to have Jesse Parker as our new Athletic Director,” said Logan High Principal Ken Auld in a statement. “He comes to Logan High School with a lot of experience working at the college level, and I feel fortunate to have him as part of our Logan High Administration Team.”

Parker, a native of Kamas, comes to Logan after being the Director of Basketball Operations for the men’s basketball team at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona. According to the Logan City School District, working under head coach Dan Majerle, Parker oversaw budgets, compliance, recruiting team travel, academic monitoring, practice planning and game preparation.

The district also announced the selection of Jill Beer as the new assistant principal at Mount Logan Middle School, effective July 1st. Beer has been a teacher at the school for the past four years, teaching sixth grade math and science. Before that, she spent 15 years in the Davis School District. She has a Bachelor’s degree from USU and a Master’s degree from Western Governors University, which included an Administrative Endorsement.

“Having been a 6th grade Math & Science teacher for the past four years at MLMS, I have been a part of a school that is inclusive of all students and encourages them to do their best,” said Ms. Beer in a statement. “I believe the heart of Mount Logan Middle School is our parents, faculty and staff who love and want the best for students.”

“She has established herself as a passionate educator and teacher leader,” added Mount Logan Middle School Principal Paul Wagner. “She is fully committed to helping every student at Mount Logan achieve their potential and create a positive future for themselves and their community.”
