Sunshine Terrace Foundation will soon be offering Dementia Dialogues, a community education place designed to inform and educate the community about dementia-related diseases. The class will be taught by Amy Anderson and Dennis Wildman at 248 West 300 North in Logan.
Anderson says those who participate will gain information on the causes, the impact on communication and daily caregiving.
“They created, based on research, a five session basic class,” Anderson explains. “But it’s really practical. It’s designed to educate families and individuals about Alzheimer’s disease, the symptoms, what normal aging is versus dementia.
“Each week there is a different topic to make sure families have the basic facts but also the skills and tools to take back to their caregiving role.”
Anderson says the classes will be held on five Wednesdays starting November 7th.
