It’s the Weekend: Oct. 25-28, 2018

Halloween is next week but there are a lot of events taking place around Cache Valley this weekend to celebrate. We’ve got all the details here.

Trick-or-Treat Street

Smithfield City is hosting Trick-or-Treat Street Friday at 6. Held at the Smithfield Rec Center, children can learn the do’s and don’ts of trick-or-treating in a fun, indoor setting. Admission is a donation of school supplies per family.

Zombie Walk

Zombies and zombie hunters stroll the streets of Historic Downtown Logan Friday night. The Zombie Walk begins at the corner of Church Street and Federal Avenue at 6 and everyone is encouraged to bring one or more non-perishable food items to be donated to the Cache Community Food Pantry.

Harry Potter Party

You’re invited to attend the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry at the North Logan Library Friday. Wizard or Muggle attire is appropriate at this Harry Potter Party and the fun begins at 6 p.m.

Tunnel Tales

In the mood for spooky stories? Tunnel Tales is Friday and Saturday night in Logan’s Central Park tunnels starting at 7 p.m. each evening. The tales are not for the faint of heart, so children under the age of eight probably shouldn’t attend.

Dracula

Cache Valley Civic Ballet performs Dracula, Friday and Saturday night at the Ellen Eccles Theatre. Come in costume as you enjoy this classic tale that’s perfect for this Halloween season. Children eight years and older are admitted.

Howl

The biggest Halloween party in the region is this Friday night in the Taggart Student Center. Circus of Souls is the theme for this year’s Howl at USU, starting at 8 p.m.

Institute Hallows Eve

Or, as an alternative, the Logan LDS Institute is hosting Institute Hallows Eve, complete with costume contests, carnival games, music, and a lot more on Friday from 6-10 p.m.

Rocky Horror Picture Show

The Rocky Horror Picture Show returns to the Utah Theatre this weekend. Showings are at Midnight Friday and Saturday and at 10 p.m. on Halloween. All three showings are full audience participation.

First Dam Scary Run

Start your Saturday out with the First Dam Scary Run. There’s a 5K, a 10K and a Halloween-themed run for the kids starting and ending at Merlin Olsen Central Park at 9 a.m.

USU Football

The Utah State Aggie football team returns for one of their last home football games of the season. They host New Mexico and the kickoff is at 2 p.m. Saturday.

Trunk or Treat

The biggest Trunk or Treat in Cache Valley is Saturday from 5-8 p.m. at Young Honda. The massive trunk-or-treat benefits both the Logan and Cache County school districts.

Hallow-Swing

Swing dance in costume at Elite Hall in Hyrum, this Saturday night. USU Big Band Swing Club presents Hallow-Swing, with lessons at 7, live band from 8-10:30 p.m.

Halloween Journey

Join Stokes Nature Center for a whimsical Halloween event for you and your little ones. Step into a Halloween tale by engaging with enchanting characters as they seek your help, give you magical tokens, and tell you their stories at the Stokes Nature Center’s Outdoor Classroom in Nibley Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m.

Annie Get Your Gun

Irving Berlin’s classic tale Annie Get Your Gun comes to life at Mountain Crest High School this Thursday, Friday and Saturday, then again on Monday, Oct. 29th.
