LOGAN — Deputies are investigating the death of a woman, who’s body was found Wednesday morning in Logan Canyon.

Cache County Sheriff’s Lt. Brian Locke said a group of hikers located the victim around 7:30 a.m. The body was north of Stokes Nature Center, along the Highline Trail.

The death does not appear to be suspicious.

Locke said their initial investigation suggests the woman fell off a cliff Tuesday while hiking in the area. Deputies were able to identify the victim, and are notifying family.

The body was turned over to the State Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the exact cause of death.

Locke said they are still trying to piece together what happened and will release more details as the investigation continues.
