Tickets are apparently selling fast for the annual Freedom Fire celebration taking place Tuesday night. The annual event is hosted each year by Logan City on the night before Independence Day, this year on Tuesday, July 3rd. Logan City Parks and Recreation Director Russ Akina says the program will start at 8 p.m. at Utah State University’s football stadium and will feature some great talent.
April Meservy, whose rendition of U2’s “With or Without You” was prominently used at this past year’s Winter Olympics during an ice skating competition, will be singing the national anthem.
“The other three performing groups are Mile Marker 6, we’ve had them before in the past at Freedom Fire,” Akina explains, “and the Party Crashers who were there last year. They are returning again to perform.
“We are also adding The Strike. The Strike has played for us at Pioneer Day and they are a crowd favorite.”
Akina says the fireworks by Logan’s own Fireworks West will follow the patriotic program and music performances.
