Logan City announced Tuesday that it is estimated to receive more than $430,000 in Community Development Block Grant funding for the coming year. A committee has come with with recommendations on how that should be spent which have been approved by the city council.
One recipient, Doreen Flannery, expressed thanks for her school’s pre-school playground.
“The pre-school playground will be a playground that will be accessible for all students, no matter what their ability levels are,” said Flannery. “We really wanted to have a program and a place where kids in wheel chairs, or anything, could access an outdoor facility that they could participate in and be physically fit as much as their abilities allow them to be.”
Among others receiving CDBG funding are the sidewalks on 800 North, $25,000 for a bike park, $10,000 for accessible seating at the Ellen Eccles Theatre, and $20,000 for a sports court at The Family Place.
