Climate change to be discussed at town hall meeting

LOGAN – A legislative town hall meeting will be held Thursday, May 3 and Ed Redd, who is chairman of the event, said the program will deal with the science behind climate change. The town hall meeting is open to anyone interested and it starts at 7 p.m. in the Logan City Council Chambers.

Redd said a lot of questions regarding climate change have come up in recent meetings, including on the floor of the House of Representatives during the recent legislative session.

He said the speaker will be Rob Davies, associate professor of physics at Utah State University, who is considered a specialist in the area.

“I’ve heard his presentation before,” Redd said. “I think the data points he presents are pretty interesting. I think if anybody is interested in this issue and wants to learn more or has questions…I think this is a great opportunity to talk to somebody who understands it pretty well.”

Redd said when it comes to climate change there are a lot skeptics. He would like them to be a part of the discussion too.
