LOGAN – As Cache County’s agricultural agent, Clark Israelsen has been watching the farm bill and said so far members of congress have not been able to come to an agreement.
Israelsen said when it comes to agriculture in Cache Valley it’s a great year and almost everything is green.
“We’ve had a wonderful spring,” he said. “We had plenty of time to get our crops planted. They’re doing well. Rains have come at the right time. It will soon be time to start cutting hay. When we do that there are only a few days of hot weather and sunshine without rain, but compared to the rest of the state we are a watered garden. We are just a lush, beautiful part of the state.”
He said the farmers are very grateful about it.
