Library asks for patience as nearby construction hinders parking

Parking can get tight sometimes at the Logan Library these days due to construction underway nearby on a hotel and a continual increase in the use of the library itself.

Library Director Karen Clark asks the public to be patient and she says it won’t be long before we have a new library to enjoy, especially if the Logan City Council approves $12 million for the new project.

“Of course we wanted a little bit more than the allotted money will give us,” Clark says, “but I think we’ll come out fine with enough meeting spaces for the public and plenty of room for all of our items.

“I think we’ll be fine, as long as we have plenty of parking and plenty of accessibility for people to come, close to a bus route because we have a lot of patrons who come by bus. I feel pretty confident we’ll be able to do what we need to do with the $12 million that they are thinking about.”

Where would Clark like to see the new library built? She isn’t tied to any particular location right now. Clark says she likes the area on 100 South and 100 West that is under consideration but she says they would have to get the parking figured out.
