Isby announces departure from USU basketball team

Utah State Aggies guard DeAngelo Isby (0) drives to the basket. Isby was the lead scorer for the Aggies with 24 points against the Utes. The Aggies lost to the Utes 77-67 in the Vivint Smart Home Arena on Saturday in Salt Lake City.

LOGAN – Just days following the announcement that Tim Duryea was let go as head coach of the USU basketball team, junior guard DeAngelo Isby took to Twitter to announce that he would be requesting a release from the program.

In his tweet, Isby thanked the coaching staff, his teammates and fans and said he has requested his release and will not be returning.

Isby came to USU as a junior college transfer and spent one season with the team. He played in 28 games, averaging 8.4 points and 2.9 rebounds per game.
