A two-vehicle accident Saturday afternoon near Willard sent a pregnant woman and another man to the hospital, both with life-threatening injuries.
Utah Highway Patrol troopers report the 21-year-old female was driving a Mazda Protege eastbound on 8700 S. around 3:30 p.m. The woman, who is in her first-trimester of pregnancy, was stopped at a stop sign when it pulled in front of a Dodge Ram pickup truck that was traveling southbound on US-89.
The truck hit the Mazda on the driver’s side door, causing the car to spin off the right side of the roadway. The woman was wearing a seat belt, but the 20-year-old male passenger was not. He was thrown into the driver’s seat, hitting the driver.
The female driver was flown by helicopter to McKay Dee Hospital. The male passenger was flown to Ogden Regional Hospital, Both were in extremely critical condition.
Troopers report the driver of the truck was unhurt.
