Kern will discuss the role of virtue, self interest and religion in our republic

“The Role of Virtue, Self Interest and Religion in our Republic” is the theme for the presentation being made in the Logan Tabernacle on Sunday, November 5th at 6 p.m.

The speaker will be Cindy Kern who has been the media director for American Heritage at Brigham Young University for the past 27 years.

Program coordinator LuAnn Harris says Kern has also taught at BYU for the past five years, she has taught at Education Week and has been asked to speak frequently to people of all ages.

“It has nothing to do with the LDS church,” says Harris, “it just deals with what was put in, what they were trying to do when they put in the republic to keep it free for everyone, and what has happened through the years.”

Harris says at the BYU American Heritage center she has taught one-third each of Political Science, History and Economics.
