Legislative Town Hall will focus on substance addiction as a complex illness

A legislative town hall meeting is scheduled for Thursday, October 26 at 7 p.m. in the Historic Cache County Courthouse. Everyone is invited to attend.

State Representative Ed Redd, R-District 4, is hosting the meeting this month and says it is a chance to get a better understanding of substance addiction as a complex illness for which there is no single or simple solution.

There will be a panel discussion and those on the panel are Judge Kevin Allen from Mental Health Court, Judge Thomas Willmore from Drug Court, Jared Bohman, outpatient SUD treatment provider with the Bear River Health Department, Wally Odd, mental health advocate, Dan Workman, a person in recovery from opioid addiction and now a recovery consultant, and, Dr. Eric Barker, a psychiatrist with a focus on treating addiction.

There will be opportunities for questions and comments with a focus on treating addictions.
