Man in extremely critical condition after 2-vehicle crash

LOGAN — A two vehicle accident early Friday morning has sent a 70-year-old man to the hospital in extremely critical condition. The crash occurred at 200 S. 1000 W. just after 6:45 a.m.

Logan City Police Capt. Tyson Budge said initial reports are a black Honda CRV was eastbound on 200 S trying to cross 1000 W. The 71-year-old driver pulled in front of a Subaru that was travelling northbound on 1000 W.

The impact of the crash flipped the CRV onto its top. The 71-year-old man was able to get out of the car and was treated by paramedics at the scene.

The 70-year-old driver of the Subaru was unconscious when police arrived at the crash. Paramedics were able to detect a faint pulse and rushed the man to the hospital. He was later transferred to a nearby trauma unit.

The identities of both men have not been released, pending the investigation and notification of family.

Northbound traffic along 1000 W was restricted to one lane and 200 S was detoured while crews cleared the accident.
