Entries are coming in and other activities are going on at the Cache County Fairgrounds where the 2017 Cache County Fair and Rodeo open on Thursday, August 10th and continue through Saturday, August 12th.
Fair Manager Jill Zollinger is inviting everyone to attend the fair and she says there is much to enjoy, including the entertainment.
“The Cache Idol competition will be Thursday night, then after that we have Reckless Uprising coming,” Zollinger explains. “Then on Friday we’ve got Ronald McDonald from 3-5, and then we’ll have the Cache Idol winners from 5-6. Mark Gibbons will perform from 6-7 and then 8:30-11 will be Rough Stock.”
On Saturday the main concert will feature Exile, a bad that had numerous hits in the 1980s. The free concert will begin at 7:30 p.m.
The rodeo starts at 8 p.m. each evening and Zollinger says tickets are going fast. Rodeo Chairman LaMont Poulsen says there is a lot to offer for this year’s rodeo.
He says for the convenience of patrons, all seats are reserved this year, children 2 and younger will be admitted free and Thursday night is Family Night with discount prices for families.
He says the entertainment will be the Ehcapa Bareback Riders and Rider Kiesner, who competes at the largest competitions all over the world. Poulsen says there are a lot of outstanding local entries as well.
“We have 305 entries, scattered over the three nights,” Poulsen explains, “and we have a lot of world champions, past world champions and NFR qualifiers from the national finals.
“Locally, we have the Wrights from Milford that are saddle bronc riders. There’s a good showing clear across the board.”
Rodeo tickets can be purchased at Macey’s in Logan and in Providence, at the IFA Country Store in North Logan and at the Cache County Administration Building at 179 North Main in Logan.
Zollinger says all-day carnival tickets are $20 until Wednesday, August 9th at 5 p.m. or until they are sold out.
