Three of the four candidates running for Logan Mayor have said they are against a proposed major housing development in the Garff Gardens area.
Hayden Eugene Nielson, Brian Seamons and Kyle Barney have said they do not believe that is the right spot for such a project mainly because of the parking problems it would cause.
Holly Daines, current member of the Logan City Council now running for mayor, says she has mixed feelings about that and believes it needs further study.
“I’m not sure the current town center code is quite to the point where we want it to really encourage exactly what we want, and again, no project’s ever perfect,” Daines explains. “There are pros and cons on both sides, so I am studying the issues carefully on that, and we may need to look at reworking our code a little bit before we move forward with projects of that nature.”
Daines says the council is working with members of the planning commission in dealing not only with that project but others as well.
