Paul Borup has lived in other places but said there’s only one place he’s been happy to call home, and that is Logan. Borup is a territory manager for Liberty Mutual Insurance Company and has announced his candidacy for a position on the Logan City Council.
Borup said he feels the city has a good general plan and sincerely hopes it will be followed. His main concern right now is a major development that has been proposed—the Garden Park Apartments.
“There’s a nice town plan, and that doesn’t really fit in that,” he said. “The big brew haha over it is the fact that they’re having to ask for a zoning change. I think if it fit into some areas that were already zoned for that, where it would more seamlessly interact with the neighborhood, I could really get on board with a project like that, but where it’s currently located, I’m not the biggest fan.”
Borup said he would like to be elected to help keep Logan the way it is—there’s a great education system, safe streets and a favorable tax base. He said the quality of life in Logan City is “just off the charts.”
