NORTH LOGAN — The third annual Sunshine Swing Croquet Tournament and Lawn Party is coming up on Saturday, June 17. Once again, money raised from the event will be used to help provide care for seniors in need.
Amy Anderson, outreach director for the Sunshine Terrace Foundation, said the time is 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and the place is the Old Crookston Homestead in North Logan. Practice court and registration will open at 12:30 p.m.
“It is a croquet and lawn party where we play speed croquet in teams of six,” Anderson explained,” and it’s really unusual in that every team has one ball and one mallet, and they play through nine obstacle-style croquet courses. So it’s kind of a combination of miniature golf and croquet. People can dress in costumes if they’d like.”
Anderson said the Sunshine Swing is a great way to enjoy being out of doors while supporting the services of the Sunshine Terrace Foundation. She said the public is invited to participate, and the cost is $300 for a team of six or $50 for a single player. Spectator tickets are available for $20 each. Registration is available online, and pricing includes garden party foods, beverages and entertainment.
Residents of Sunshine Terrace and Terrace Grove will be among the event’s participants, and prizes will be awarded for fastest teams, best hats, best costumes and more. Call 435-754-0203 or email <a href=”mailto:[email protected]”>[email protected] for more information.
