Come party at the SNC Yurt at Beaver Mountain

A fun event is coming up this Sunday, February 26th. It’s the annual Infamous Beaver Mountain Tailgate Party, organized by the board and staff of the Stokes Nature Center. Executive director Jennifer Hamilton was a guest on KVNU’s For the People recently and explained what it’s all about.

“Yeah, the Infamous Beaver Mountain Tailgate party is just a really great way to get people together especially in the winter season. I’m a new recruit to the local Logan scene so this will be my first time attending”explained Hamilton.

“But I’ve heard that Beaver Mountain, in general, has a pretty great scene. And this is just our way to bring people together and have fun outdoors. We rent they yurt for the day and then we provide a bevy of food and beverages as people are going in and out (while) skiing and enjoying the mountain”,she said.

Skiers are welcome to enjoy breakfast, lunch options, mimosa’s and other beverages. Hamilton said the nature center came up with this event a couple years ago as a way to engage and reach out to people during a kind of slow time of year for the center. She said you don’t have to ski, you can also just come hang out.

You can purchase tickets for the party at the Stokes Nature Center website www.logannature.org . Hamilton said this is the nature center’s 20th year and they have other special events in the future including a Spring Opening Week beginning on March 20th. Where you can come check out the different programs and showcases of the things the nature center offers and it’s FREE.
