UDOT seeking comments on SR-30 EIS

What would you do to improve SR-30, the Valley View Highway? UDOT would like to know at a scoping meeting for the highway’s Environmental Impact Statement to be held Wed.afternoon, Sept 28th, from 4p.m. to 7p.m. Vic Saunders of UDOT was a guest on KVNU’s For the People on Tuesday.

“We’re going to begin a several year process to look at that critically, to assess the potential impacts on the environment and the possible improvements that can be made to that roadway within those environmental considerations. We’re asking the public to come out to the Logan Environmental Center (at) 153 North 14-hundred West from, I believe, 4 to 7….tell us what they think, what they want, what they would like to have. What they think are the safety improvements that roadway needs. What are the bicycle, walking improvements that we need”, said Saunders.

The study area is that part of the highway from 1000 West to SR-23. Interested persons may drop in anytime during the event to view displays and discuss them with the study team. For more information: call Project Manager Rod Terry at 801-620-1686, or consult the study web page at udot.utah.gov/SR30study.
