Progress is continuing in the Cache County Council’s effort to create a water conservancy district. At Tuesday’s council meeting, Cache County Executive Craig Buttars gave the latest report.
“The communities have passed the resolution and the last public hearing will be held on the 13th of July,” Buttars said. “That begins a 60 day protest period for the public, if anyone wants to protest putting that on the ballot will have 60 days to do so.”
Buttars says volunteers have been coming forward who will help inform the public about a water conservancy district, and why it would be important for the county, something elected officials are not allowed to do. He says there will be another meeting on Thursday at 3 p.m.
