Thursday, May 5 is the 2016 National Day of Prayer, a day to set aside some time to pray for our nation, our state, and our leaders. That reminder came at Tuesday’s meeting of the Cache County Council from local pastor Ron Flessner.
He serves on the national task force and as Utah State Coordinator for the National Day of Prayer.
“The theme this year is Wake Up America,” said Flessner. “Many times when we have the opportunity to pray we don’t. I’m going to be leading a prayer meeting this year down at the Capitol Rotunda from 11:30-1:30 to pray for all 50 states and all 29 counties here in Utah, including Cache County.”
Flessner invited members of the council and other members of the community to join him either in person, or in spirit.
“If you’d like to drive down to the capitol and join me there I’d encourage you to do so,” he continued. “But however you can, and in as many ways as we can, let’s all encourage prayer because if we fail to pray all the planning we’re going about here is for naught.”
Flessner said if we do God’s will he will bless us, forgives us for our sins and helps us as we do His work on earth.
