Fans get an inside look at USU basketball at open practice

LOGAN, Utah – Utah State men’s basketball hosted an open practice on Tuesday, giving diehard Aggie fans an inside look at the inner workings of the program. More than 100 people attended the session that included various drills over the course of the two-hour practice.

“I think this was a really good experience for our guys,” said head coach Tim Duryea. “I think it was also good for our fans to get a little bit of an inside look at what we do. You really had to be a hardcore fan to stay for the whole thing, but I think we got out what we wanted to and that was to have a high intensity practice.”

The practice ended with a few in attendance selecting a player to shoot free throws in a 1-and-1 situation. Junior guard Viko Noma’aea was selected and missed the first, causing the rest of the team to run lines. Senior guard Chris Smith was then selected and converted both of his tries, punctuating the practice.

Utah State was selected third in the Mountain West preseason poll and returns all five starters from a team that finished with an overall mark of 18-13 and 11-7 ledger in league play in 2014-15.

Single game tickets for the 2015-16 season are now available and begin at $17. USU men’s basketball season ticket renewals, new season tickets and mini-plans are also available.
