Pugmire pleased with what he sees from Rubio

He was not able to get to Salt Lake City on Monday to meet with presidential candidate Marco Rubio, but Cache County Republican Party Chairman Boyd Pugmire says Rubio would make a good president.

In fact, Pugmire says Rubio is his own number two choice behind Jeb Bush. Pugmire says he feels that Rubio has handled himself very well as a United States senator.

“I’ve also been impressed with the fact with the way the people in Florida feel about him,” Pugmire says. “I think he would bring something new to the table that we haven’t seen before, particularly helping with minority votes in the party.”

Pugmire says the main reason he still prefers Bush is because he believes that serving as a governor and getting that executive experience is good preparation for a president.

As for Democrats, Pugmire would rather see Republicans run against Hillary Clinton because he feels she is very vulnerable. But he says if Joe Biden runs and gets elected it could feel like a third term from the Obama administration that does nothing to help middle America.
